I have no idea when I actually started making this quilt, but it'd would've been years ago. I mean, literally years! This is a view of it prior to my adding the scrappy binding, which I spent most of today doing. The quilt's not finished, and despite all its flaws, I'm really happy with it.
Okay, so the corners aren't mitred neatly, there're wobbly edges and untidy bits of stitching, but that doesn't matter. It's not an art quilt or something to drape over a sofa back, purely for effect and meant to remain pristine. Instead, it's what I'd call a working quilt. To be used, to be curled up under, to be wrapped around someone who's feeling chilly. An honest, everyday sort of quilt, and all the better for it.
